Being a working mom gets your kids out of your hair from time to time. You have the benefit of knowing people without having the kids involved, and time away from them levels the sanity-field.

Plus you get more money to support the kids that way.

Edit: Look, I’m not trying to be a jerk. What I’m really trying to say is that being a full-time mom, you don’t really have time away from the kids, not enough time to be a real adult and your own person. Either mom loves their kids, but it’s hard to find time away from them if you’re a SAHM. Time away, time to be yourself is beneficial to your sanity. How many moms out there have Postpardum depression? I think it’s beneficial, nay, NECESSARY for moms, even SAHM’s, to have time away from the kids. If you’re a SAHM, that time is practically never. Yes, it’s hard to balance your time if you’re a working mother, but in some ways it is also beneficial to the mother’s sanity. I’d say the same thing to fathers – whether they be working or SAHF!
