Many groups work to combat gangs in Rochester
In the 20 years since authorities say street gangs first became an issue in Rochester, dozens of organizations have stepped in to fill the needs of young people. Some have come and gone while others have grown to add more services. Here’s a sampling of what’s being done today.

Snowball Open JAN. 29 – The Orono Lions 24th annual Snowball Open is set for Saturday, Jan. 29, with tee times starting at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Entrants will play on an evergreen lined 18 hole golf course carved out of the frozen tundra of Long Lake, next to Nelson Park.
